Working in an industry where saving hydro means big bucks, I’ve come to realize the importance of regularly reviewing your hydro bills and at the same time how many of us don’t.

A small mistake for a residential customer paying only a couple hundred dollars a month doesn’t add up to much and probably isn’t worth the effort to fix. However, as a small or medium business owner these same mistakes can cost thousands and even tens of thousands of dollars or more.

Monitoring your utility bills should be done on a yearly basis and possibly more. If reviewing your hydro bills seems like just another one of the million or so things you’re required to squeeze into a year that’s becoming increasingly shorter, consider outside consulting.
